Sumner Dewey "Tex" Tilson[1] (July 6, 1898 – November 1964) was a head coach of the Virginia Tech college football program during the 1942 season.[2] He also played college football at VPI.[3]
Biography
Tilson was born on July 6, 1898 in Childress, Texas to William Ransom Tilson and Sallie Ellen Williams. His grandfather Granville Tilson was a cattle trader in Matador, Texas.[4] He died in November 1964 in Virginia.
