Swedish Cricket Federation
Swedish Cricket Federation (sv. Svenska Cricket Förbundet) was established in 1990, and is the administrative organisation for all cricket in Sweden. The Swedish Cricket Federation is an Affiliate member of the International Cricket Council. There are 56 cricket teams in Sweden, of which 42 play in the National Cricket League.
NCL is being played in three different formats. T40 overs in div one, t30 overs in div 2&3, and t20 in all divisions.
NCL is divided into three divisions. Div 1, Div2 and div 3. In 2015 t20 NCL of Sweden there were 30 clubs which played in the higher division which is div 1. 9 clubs played in NCL div 2 and most them are the B teams of the club which plays in div 1 also and 8 teams took part in NCL div 3. The NCL is divided in two groups, a North zone and a South zone. In the South zone are Göteborg, Halmstad, Helsingborg, Karlskrona, Landskrona, Lund, Malmö, United CC, and Älmhult. In the North zone are Alby, Botkyrka, Bromma, Eskilstuna, Huddinge, Husby, Kista, Märsta, Nacka, Norsborg, Saltsjöbaden, Sigtuna, Spånga, Umeå, Uppsala, and Västerås.
Evergreen Cricket Club won the t20 National Cricket League for the 2nd tine in a row. And they have also won the t40 overs NCL twice in a row in 2013 & 2014.
The Swedish Cricket Federation got recognition in Sweden by the Swedish Sports Confederation in their annual meeting on 30-May 2015 in Helsingborg. Currently there are more than 3000 cricket players in Sweden, those players are mostly from countries like Afghanistan, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka and other cricket playing nations.
Youth cricket in Sweden . Sweden u19 played 4 t20 matches on 27&28 June 2015 in Olso with the Norway u19 . Sweden u19 lost 1-3 the series. And letter in August Norway u17 came to Stockhlom to play against Sweden u17 which was won by Sweden u17.
And on 6&7 August 2015 for the first time SCF with partnership with Helsingborgs cricketförening organized an u19 regional cricket tournament in Helsingborg in which three teams took part Malmö, Helsingborg and Stockhlom.
Sweden are hosting and competing in the European t20 div 2 in 2016, with matches at Skärpnack and Gärdet in Stockholm, after being out of the international arena for two years now. Last time Sweden played in international arena was in ICC European division one at Essex England in 2013.
