Techvibes is an online publisher of Canadian technology industry news. It primarily covers businesses ranging from startups to established firms. Techvibes was founded in 2002 and is based in Vancouver, Canada. It changed hands in 2007 to Techvibes Media Inc., and Robert Lewis became its President and Editor-in-Chief.[2][3]
Canadian Startup Awards
Canadian Startup Awards is an annual conference and awards ceremony for Canadian startups. Techvibes launched the awards to recognize key players in Canada's startup ecosystem.[4][5] Anyone can nominate an entrepreneur, company, or investment firm for the awards. Winners are chosen through public votes, although a panel of judges helps select the finalists. in 2014, there were 3500 nominations and 40000 votes cast. Notable past award recipients include Shopify, a publicly-traded company based in Ottawa, and Hootsuite, a private company also based in Vancouver.
Techfest
Since the fall of 2013, Techvibes has hosted hiring events in cities across Canada including London, Waterloo, Toronto and Vancouver.[6][7]
