Teer (Urdu: تیر ) is one of the village of union councils Pind Hasham Khan, administrative subdivions, of Haripur District in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan.Teer is a village of Haripur District, which is about 17 kilometers from the main city.[1]
Overview
Teer is connected with other villages such as Alluli, Serai Niamat Khan and Pind Hasham Khan. Means of transport is road only and most of people travel on local buses, pickups and Suzuki’s. The main source of income for most of the residents is Agriculture, but due to lack of water resources it has made people to look for alternate sources of income. Village Teer is divided into small parts of areas such as Old village, Ghari, Lasha, Masyari, Nelor Maira and Neghra . Village Teer is located at 34°5.211′0″N 73°0.487′0″E.
Historically village Teer is a very old village which consists of Ziarat (Tomb) of different Wali (Saints). A large number of Hindu communities were lived there, which were migrated to India before Indo Pak partition.[2]
Population
According to the census 1998, Government of Pakistan, Statistic Division, Population Census Organization, the population of the village is about 2980 which include 1448 is male and 1532 are females and the literacy rate is about 46.8%.[3]
Education
People are very keen on the importance of education; therefore there are only two primary schools in this town one for girls and one for boys. There are some private secondary schools; however, a significant number of students go to the nearby city Haripur.[4]
Language
Hindko is the native language of all the residents of the town.[5]
Health
A health facility is a basic facility of any society and there is an only small government dispensary is available which provides health facilities to the residents.
Business
There are only few General stores available for all residents where peoples can purchase their daily food items and other products.
Caste
People of this village mostly belong to different tribes and families; such as Gurjar, Awan, Abbassi and Tanoli etc.
Sport
Cricket is the most popular game in the area, as it is throughout in Pakistan. However there are not many grounds available for youths to play any games.
