Texas's 34th Congressional District is a district that was created as a result of the 2010 Census.[3] The first candidates ran in the 2012 House elections, and were seated for the 113th United States Congress.[4] Filemon Vela, Jr. won the general election, and was seated in the new district.

Texas's 34th Congressional District is composed of the area on the Gulf Coast between Brownsville and Corpus Christi.[5]
