History

The Chantry High school was established in 1963-moving from its former early 19th century building across the road. The name changed to the Chantry school after becoming an academy in 2010. The original school colours were Maroon and black but have since changed to Red and black.

Pedophilia

In 2007, the school's physical education teacher, Ian Wood, admitted at Worcester Magistrates Court to possessing two indecent images of children including a video of a boy, believed to be aged between nine and 10, being raped by an adult.[2]

The School Housing System

The Chantry High School operates a house system in Senior School Fashion. The house system is a main part of the pastoral care system, and there are various house sporting and music competitions every year. There are five houses in total, each named after surrounding hillside areas within a 100-mile radius of the school campus.
