The Marketing Practice
The Marketing Practice, also known as TMP, is a business-to-business marketing agency based in East Hendred, a village in South Oxfordshire. The agency works with a range of IT and Technology companies such as Microsoft, Hewlett Packard Enterprise, Salesforce, Canon and Telefónica O2 and has a strong focus on driving commercial results from marketing.
The B2B agency was founded by Clive McNamara in 2002 from his front room in Ardington, Oxfordshire. Early clients included Fujitsu and eGain. McNamara has a range of experience from various Sales and Marketing positions, including Marketing Director at a large IT software company. He created The Marketing Practice after being unable to find one agency that offered a fully integrated B2B marketing solution.
Work & Results
The Marketing Practice bases its commercial results focus on integrating all marketing disciplines in one place. This includes Creative, Content, Planning, Data, Digital and Inside Sales.
Previous achievements include generating EMEA sales of 284X The Marketing Investment for Atos [1] and improving the Microsoft Lumia business market share from 12% to 26%.[2] The agency has also been recognised as being in the top 3 100% revenue B2B agencies in the B2B Agencies Benchmarking Report.[3]
Expansion
In 2008 The Marketing Practice moved to its current premises in The Old Estate Yard, East Hendred. In 2013 it acquired a creative studio and opened a third barn in 2016 to accommodate growing employee numbers. The agency has also reported its intention to open an office in the USA, having already established its first non-UK office in Munich, Germany.[4]
Sales & Marketing Forums
The agency runs regular ‘S&M Forums’ [5] in London for B2B sales and marketing industry experts and senior professionals. It includes a range of speakers and was highly commended in the Best Live Initiative Category at the 2010 B2B Marketing Awards.[6]
Industry Recognition
The Marketing Practice have been the most-awarded agency at the B2B Marketing Awards in both 2013 and 2014.[7] Awards include ‘Most commercially successful campaign’ for Atos and ‘Best lead generation’ for Genpact.[8] They have been runner-up for the ‘Agency of the Year’ accolade for the last three years in a row.[9]
A number of employees at the agency have also been recognised by industry bodies such as B2B Marketing Magazine and The Chartered Institute of Marketing. Board director and shareholder Paul Everett is a member of the executive committee at the Business Marketing Collective.[10]
Charitable Work
The Marketing Practice is heavily involved in charity and has stated an aim to give back to its local community. It set up the TMP Foundation where charities are chosen as the focus of fundraising support, and has raised over £50,000 to date for charities including The Footsteps Foundation [11] and Parkinson’s UK. Fundraising activities have included a 175-mile cycle and a 24-hour table football tournament.[12][13][14][15]
