The Serenity of Suffering is the twelfth studio album by nu metal band Korn, released on October 21, 2016.[11] According to guitarist Brian Welch, it is "heavier than anyone's heard us in a long time"[12] and that it contains their most intense music in a long time vocally as well.[13]
The artwork contains elements of Korn's fourth album, Issues, and was created by Ron English.[14] The album's vibe and atmosphere are both darker than Korn's recent albums. The album also marks a return to the band's trademark sound.
Commercial performance
The Serenity of Suffering debuted at number 4 on the US Billboard 200 with 57,000 units, 55,000 of which were pure album sales.[15]
