The Swan Princess is a 1994 American animated musical fantasy film based on the ballet "Swan Lake". Starring the voice talents of Jack Palance, John Cleese, Steven Wright, and Sandy Duncan, the film was directed by a former Disney animation director, Richard Rich, and produced by Nest Family Entertainment / Rich Animation Studios and with a music score by Lex de Azevedo. The story follows the Princess Odette and Prince Derek. It was released theatrically on November 18, 1994 where it received mixed reviews from critics.

The Swan Princess: Escape from Castle Mountain / The Swan Princess: The Secret of the Castle is an 1997 American animated musical-fantasy film and the direct-to-video sequel to the animated film The Swan Princess. Directed by Richard Rich (who also directed the original), the film follows Derek and Odette's one-year after their wedding of Derek and Odette, now they were celebrating their anniversary, but suddenly was disrupted by the actions of the wizard Clavius, who wants to regain the Forbidden Arts and destroy their happiness.

The Swan Princess: The Mystery of the Enchanted Kingdom / The Swan Princess: The Mystery of the Enchanted Treasure is a direct-to-video film and the third installment in the The Swan Princess franchise. It was released in 1998, directed again by Richard Rich, and features the voices of Michelle Nicastro and Brian Nissen as Odette and Derek. This film follows Derek and Odette having to deal with Zelda, a sorceress who is seeking the Forbidden Arts and wishes to use it to destroy their happiness of Odette and Derek.

The Swan Princess Christmas is a 2012 American computer-animated family/fantasy film directed by Richard Rich, produced by Crest Animation Productions and Nest Family Entertainment. It is the fourth film in The Swan Princess series, and follows the adventures of Odette and Derek celebrating their first Christmas together. While the three previous films in the series were animated using traditional 2D hand-drawn animation, The Swan Princess Christmas was created entirely in 3D CGI animated.

The Swan Princess: A Royal Family Tale is a 2014 American computer-animated family/fantasy film produced by Crest Animation Productions and Nest Family Entertainment, directed by Richard Rich and starring the voices of Elle Deets as Odette and Yuri Lowenthal as Derek. It is the fifth film in The Swan Princess series, and follows Odette and Derek's adoption of a young girl named Alise, and their battle to defeat the Forbidden Arts. It was released direct-to-DVD and Blu-ray on February 25, 2014 for the franchise's 20th anniversary.

The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today is a 2016 direct-to-DVD computer-animated sequel and sees Alise on an adventure overseas.^[1][2]

Princess Odette

She is the female protagonist in all five movies of The Swan Princess and the title character. She is Prince Derek's beloved wife and a loving, caring mother of an adopted daughter named Alise. She is kind, gentle and sweet to everyone she loves and cares about. She is also very brave and courageous when faced with dangerous situations and is not afraid to speak her mind. She is the only one who can change into a swan by day and regain her human form by night.

Prince Derek

He is the male protagonist in all of The Swan Princess movie series. He is the main love interest, boyfriend, and husband of Princess Odette. His elderly mother is Queen Uberta, while his father had died many years ago.

Alise

Alise is a girl who is first introduced in the fifth movie, The Swan Princess: A Royal Family Tale and the main protagonist in The Swan Princess: Princess Tomorrow, Pirate Today. She is Derek and Odette's adopted daughter.

Bromley

He is Derek's best friend (since childhood), sidekick and fellow archer. He is the comic relief of the movie. He is one the most funniest, devoted and mostly got into trouble besides Jean-Bob. He is also the one who got pestered by Rogers a lot, like in the first for "Catch and Fire", the "Suspect's footprint" and was grabbed by Rogers and thrown into a mud puddle, also he knew Odette since they were children. At first, he didn't like Odette and will often tease her along with Derek. Later, he grew fond of her.

Bridget

She is an old woman who was the former minion of the evil sorcerer, Rothbart and Odette's friend. She was a former minion and even somewhat an apprentice of the evil enchanter, Rothbart, who desires to steal King Williams' kingdom. His plan to use the Forbidden Arts in order do that has failed when both of them were surrounded by King Williams' guards. They were later banished from the king's homeland; later then turned away from his influence after his presumed death in the first movie and became a dear friend of Princess Odette. She is also in love with Chamberlain.

Rothbart

He is the main antagonist in the first film. He is an evil sorcerer who mastered the Forbidden Arts twice, and kidnapped Princess Odette changed her into a swan,]. His dream is always to marry Odette so that he can conqueror King William's kingdom. He worked on the Forbidden Arts at two times in his life, once with the help of magic-shaper, Clavius, and once his consort Zelda, both of whom he betrayed once they had outlived their usefulness. With these powers, he could create anything, shapeshift himself into anything, and destroy anything with a powerful blast of red energy. He wanted King William's kingdom, but was never able to take over it because his power of the Forbidden Arts was not enough for him to keep the kingdom.
