Theo Bovens
Theodorus Jozef Franciscus Marie "Theo" Bovens (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈteːjoː ˈboːvəns]; born October 1, 1959, in Maastricht) is a Dutch politician. He is a member of the Christian Democratic Appeal. Since June 30, 2011, he has been Queen's Commissioner (King's) of the province of Limburg.
From 1986 to 2002 he was a member of the municipal council of Maastricht and from 1994 to 2003 he was also an alderman of this city. From 2003 to 2005 he was Vice Chairman of the Open University in the Netherlands and since 2005 he has been Chairman. Since 2006 he has also been a member of the Social-Economic Council.
Bovens studied history at Radboud University Nijmegen. He is married and has a daughter.
