Toirano (Ligurian: Tuiran) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Savona in the Italian region Liguria, located about 70 kilometres (43 mi) southwest of Genoa and about 30 kilometres (19 mi) southwest of Savona. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 2,254 and an area of 18.6 square kilometres (7.2 sq mi).[1]
Geography
Toirano borders the following municipalities: Balestrino, Bardineto, Boissano, Borghetto Santo Spirito, Castelvecchio di Rocca Barbena, and Ceriale. The town centre is located on the Varatella banks.
