Tom Barrett (entrepreneur)

Tom Barrett (1835 – 1926) was an entrepreneur.

T.M. Barrett owned produce businesses. He was born in Europe. He served in the Union Cavalry for Wisconsin in the civil war, living at the time in the Pelican Lake area. After the war, he moved to California. He was a founder of Glendale, California, a suburb of Los Angeles, along with Cameron E. Thom. His seamstress sister Isabel made dresses for Republican President Herbert Hoover's wife and 1920's actresses in Hollywood. He is buried at Forest Lawn in Los Angeles.
