Tonmnoy Tansen (born 1978) is a Bangladeshi singer and also a film director. He is also a member of a music band which name is VIKINGS established in 1997 and he is vocal of that band.

Band

Vikings, one of the popular bands of the nineties, had been out of the scene for 10 years, but they have returned to the music scene, in a somewhat unusual manner: through the music of a film, a first instance of its kind in Bangladesh. The soundtracks album of the film "Runout", directed by Tonmoy Tansen (who is also the front-man of the band), was released on Thursday in the capital. Veteran journalist Rahat Khan unveiled the album at the ceremony, where Ayub Bachchu, film star Omar Sani, AKM Arifur Rahman, Chairman, Laser Vision (the production banner of the album) and the cast and crew of the film were present. Vikings have an unchanged lineup for the album, with Tonmoy on vocals, Setu on guitar, Babu on keys, Jony on bass and Saimon on drums. The soundtracks of the action flick also features Kona and Rinti in two songs. Written by Rafiqul Islam, produced by Sadat Mahmud Tanvir and under the banner of New Gen Entertainment, the film casts Sajal Nur, Mousumi Nag, Omar Sani, Sabiha, Ahmed Sharif and Tariq Anam Khan in major roles. Model Nayla Nayem will make her first big-screen appearance in an item song in the film, too. Radio Foorti is the radio partner of the film.[1]

Film

The shooting for Emon and Meem's new film "Poddo Patar Jol" wrapped up recently. It took 87 days of extensive shooting to finish the film. Tanmoy Tansen has written the screenplay and directed the film based on the story of lyricist Latiful Islam Shibli. The plot revolves around a colonial tale, with a modern approach. The film is currently under post-production. About the film, Emon said "This is, so far, one of the best works in my career as it required me to work really hard. I have high expectations from it." Meanwhile, Meem said, "Audience will see me in a new avatar; it is a tale of colonial times. Its story, music and cinematography are very promising which I think will make the film stand out." Popular singers and music directors including Ahmed Imtiaz Bulbul, Arnob, SI Tutul, Adit, bands Shironamhin and Chirkutt have done music for the film.[2]

Run out: Run Out[1] is an upcoming Bangladeshi action romance film written by Rafiqul Islam Poltu. Directed by Tonmoy Tansen. presented by Sadat Mahmud Tanvir as a production of New Gen Entertainment. Development began in February 2012. The film stars Shajal Noor, Romana Shwarna, Â Mousumi Nag, Tanvir Hossain Probal, Mahmudul Islam Selim, Sabiha Masum, Goutam Saha, Jubayer Hillol, Zara, Aurindom Nattya Gosthi and Tarik Anam Khan. will be doing a cameo in the film.[2]
