The Toronto Coalition for Active Transportation (TCAT) was formed in 2006 to give a unified voice to over 43 groups working for a better cycling and pedestrian environment in Toronto. The TCAT plan for active transportation emerged from consultation with environmental, health and transportation groups from across Toronto.[1][2][3]

Mission

The Toronto Coalition for Active Transportation (TCAT) works to create a better city for cycling and walking.

Activities

TCAT's range of activities encompass conducting research and developing policy; working with City of Toronto staff and councillors and other governments and agencies; and identifying and communicating opportunities to influence government decision making.

TCAT's major activities so far include the Bike Summit 2008 conference, and the conference, "Bikes as a Public Good: What is the future of bikesharing in Toronto?".
