History
In November 2012 Transit Systems was awarded a contract by Transport for New South Wales to operate Sydney Bus Region 3 bus services in Sydney, taking over services operated by Busabout, Hopkinsons, Metro-link and Westbus. Transit Systems also took over the government operated T80 from Western Sydney Buses.[1][2] Operations commenced on 13 October 2013.
Routes
Transit Systems took over all of the existing routes operated in Sydney Bus Region 3 as well as the Liverpool-Parramatta T-way service T80 which was previously operated by Western Sydney Buses on 13 October 2013.
Fleet
Transit Systems operates a combination of buses inherited from its predecessors, 65 new built buses and some second hand purchases including Volgren bodied Mercedes-Benz O500LEs from Brisbane Transport and some older high-floors purchased from the Dineen Group and Hopkinsons. As at August 2014, the fleet consisted of 237 buses.[3]
