Tribewanted

Tribewanted is a sustainable tourism and social enterprise project which began on Vorovoro Island in Fiji in 2006. In 2010 Tribewanted began operating its second project at John Obey in Sierra Leone. In 2013 they opened a further project in a traditional Italian 'borgo' or hamlet in Umbria called Monestevole and a Community Interest Company to crowd-fund further projects.

Tribewanted describes its mission as 'to build sustainable communities in amazing places that benefit locals and visiting members; inspiring positive change within and far beyond the village.'[1]

Both projects have received extensive media coverage[4], including a five-part BBC documentary called Paradise or Bust and a book by founder Ben Keene.

Management of the Fijian project was handed back to the local community in October 2011.
