True Reflections is a rock album by violinist Boyd Tinsley of the Dave Matthews Band, released in June 2003. Tinsley was the first member of the group to release a solo album. Despite that Tinsley is a violinist, his album makes little use of the instrument, instead focusing on his voice. The album was not well received by critics, who largely ignored it, and sales were modest.[1][2][3]

Die-hard Dave Matthews Band fans will find this recording to be an admirable way of learning more about this maestro of the violin, while most others may be better off waiting for Dave Matthew’s first solo album to arrive later this summer.

True Reflections is an album without style or direction. The worst of it is that Boyd Tinsley is a talented musician who can surely do better than this. While it is admirable that Tinsley has stepped forward and done his own thing, this is one album that may have been better left unreleased.
