The University of Wah was established in 2005. In July 2009 the Punjab provincial Assembly passed the University of Wah Act, 2009.[1] The university offers 4-years Bachelor and 2-years Master programs in basic sciences, social sciences, management sciences and engineering sciences.
The university has two constituent colleges, Mashal and Wah Engineering College. The Wah Engineering College offers a B.Sc Engineering Program in the fields of electrical power, mechanical, chemical, civil, mechatronics, whereas Mashal College offers BS 4-year programs in English and education (only for girls). [2]
The Quaid Campus is located in the beautiful and pollution free environment of the Wah Cantonment. Wah Cantt is situated in the North-West of Islamabad "The Capital of Pakistan". Taxila city is adjacent to Wah which is rich in ancient, mainly Buddhist archeological sites and Sikh sacred places. Wah has around 98% literacy rate and is known as "Model City" for education.
