W Crucis is a star system in the constellation Crux. A Beta Lyrae variable, its apparent magnitude ranges from 9.04 to 10.38 over 198 days.[2] Its light curve has been observed to be asymmetric with subsequent maxima differing in height,[3] which is described as the so-called O'Connell effect.
