The white-bellied seedeater (Sporophila leucoptera) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Peru, and Suriname. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist shrubland, swamps, and heavily degraded former forest.
