William McIntyre (Corporal)

Corporal William McIntyre was an Ontario Provincial Police undercover officer killed in his Oakville, Ontario apartment on Easter Sunday, 1984. It has been reported by Toronto Star crime reporter Nick Pron and reprinted by PoliceOne.com,[1] that some within the OPP suspected McIntyre may have been murdered by someone within the OPP and was about to 'come out of the closet', exposing other officers as homosexual.

McIntyre's murder occurred in the same year as the founding of Pink Triangle Services, the first LGBT charity in Canada (located in Ottawa, Ontario).
