The Winston Wildcats are a professional indoor football team based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the Wildcats play their home games at the LJVM Coliseum Annex. The Wildcats joined American Indoor Football (AIF) as an expansion team in 2015. Following the 2016 season, the AIF ceased operations, leaving the Wildcats without a league. The Wildcats will resume a full schedule play during the 2018 season and determine which league to join during the 2017 season with some exhibition games.
The Wildcats are the first indoor football team to call Winston-Salem home since the Winston-Salem Energy, which played in the National Indoor Football League for the 2002 season before folding.[1][2]
