Wisely is a mobile application that generates shopping and dining recommendations based on user transaction data, rather than user reviews.[1][2][3][4] It also allows users to manage personal finances.[1][2][3]

Development

Wisely Inc was cofounded in 2013 by Tyler Felous and Mike Vichich, who met at the consulting company Accenture.[5] The Wisely app was launched for iOS in December 2013, while an Android version remains in development.[2][3] Wisely requires iOS 6.0 or later.[6] Its latest release version (1.0.3) was made public on January 9, 2014.[6]

Features

Wisely connects to its users' credit cards, which allows users to set a budget, monitor their purchases over time, map them geographically, and identify fraudulent transactions.[1][2][3][4] According to Vichich, the app aims to create a "map of the economy" and "democratize spending decisions".[1][4] The app also allows users to scan loyalty cards.[4] Wisely currently only supports American Express cardholders.[1][2][3][7]
