Wuhan Museum

Wuhan Museum began to be prepared to construct in 1984 and was formally completed in 1986. In 2001, the new museum was completed and opened to the public. It has a total built-up area of 17834 square meters. The display area is up to 6000 square meters. The museum was named the First National Museum in May in the year of 2008. Then, in January 2009, Wuhan municipal cultural relic store was merged into Wuhan Museum.

Artistic Value

Wuhan museum is possessed with rich collections, the amount of which is more than 100,000, involving a lot of types like ceramic, bronze ware, painting and calligraphy, jade ware, wood carving, enamel ware, seal and so on. As a modern comprehensive museum, Wuhan Museum has the function in cultural relic collection, academic reach, publicity and education, cultural exchange, and recreation and entertainment.[1]
