Yanbu University College was established in 2005,[1] in the city of Yanbu Al-Sinaiyah, located on the coast of the Red Sea in Madinah Province, Saudi Arabia. The college is run under the auspices of the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu.[2] Yanbu University College is a governmental institution (non-profitable institution) offering post-secondary education dedicated to prepare and train a workforce to serve the local industry in the Tihamah region (west coast of Saudi Arabia). It specializes in the fields of applied linguistics, computer science, management, and information technology education.
Academic Departments
There are three departments of the Yanbu University College that offer degree programmes, each with its own internal structure and activities. Teaching at YUC is structured around these departments of study. A student is registered in one of the departments depending on the programme the student is interested in pursuing. In addition to these departments, the Department of General Studies and Department of Math offer courses which students registered in the main three departments need to take in order to complete their degrees.[3]

IT Department
The aim of the IT department is to provide excellent IT service to the YUC students as well as the university staffs. IT department is headed by Engr. Yousef Bakhsh. IT department manages the university websites, monitor the Lab using CCTV, provides LCD projectors for all the classes and labs. Wifi facilities for faculties and students and smartboard facilities for selected classes. This department also has a video conferencing room used for meeting and seminars.
Accreditation
YUC is a Accredited institution by ACBSP. Yanbu University College has obtained the accreditation from the Ministry of Civil Services to recognize bachelor's degree in the index scale for all university specialties. Former Royal Commission of Yanbu Executive Deputy, Dr. Oqaily Bin Daif Allah Khawadji has mentioned that the Ministry of Civil Services accreditation in the indexing scale opens job opportunities for the university students, and offers them suitable work positions in both public and private sectors.
The university is also working on getting accreditation from NCAAA.[4](National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment).
Campus
The male campus is made up of three buildings. Two of these, unofficially referred to as Jabriyah-1 and Jabriyah-2, are adjacent to each other in the Haii-Jabriyah area of Yanbu Industrial City.
The new female campus was recently completed and is located in the Haii-Aziziyah area. This is a purpose built campus with all modern facilities required for a university.
