Tom Chang Yu-sheng (Chinese: 張雨生, June 7, 1966 – November 12, 1997) was a Taiwanese pop singer, composer, songwriter and music producer. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest singers in Mandarin music history.
Early life

On June 7, 1966, Chang was born in Magong, Penghu, Taiwan. He was the eldest child, he had 2 younger brothers and 2 younger sisters. His father is a soldier.
He graduated from National Chengchi University.
In spare time, he was keen on music, basketball, swimming and reading.
Music career
Nicknamed "Music Magician", his major accomplishment as a producer may have been the pop singer A-mei.[1] While driving fatigued at 2:40 on October 20, 1997, he was injured in a fatal car accident and fell into a coma. He never regained consciousness and died on November 12 at the age of 31 after weeks of hospitalization.
He was known for his high vocals, capable of reaching notes up to D#6 with mixed voice.[2]
