The 2014–15 season has been Inter Milan's 83rd consecutive season in the top flight of Italian football. Inter has taken part in Serie A, Coppa Italia and UEFA Europa League.
Season
Due to the retirement of club legend Javier Zanetti, at the end of previous season, Andrea Ranocchia is appointed new captain.[2] 2014–15 season starts off with Europa League play-off, in which Inter has beaten Stjarnan by a 9–0 aggregate.[3][4]
On domestic league, excepting a 7–0 win over Sassuolo,[5] Walter Mazzarri's side offers some poor performances that lead to Roberto Mancini's return.[6] Despite this change Inter keeps on a difficult season resulting in a one-man band, mainly thank to Mauro Icardi's manic goal scoring. The side ends in eighth place, not entering to European football for 2015–16 season.
About Europa League, they are knocked out by Wolfsburg in round of 16 losing both games.

- 1 July: Inter announced that Rene Krhin signs for Inter from Bologna for €1.2 million.
- 2 July: Inter and Walter Mazzarri has been handed a one-year contract extension, keeping him at Inter until 30 June 2016.[7] On the same day, Berni returned to Inter with a one-year contract.[8]
- 5 July: Vidić signs for Inter from Manchester United as a free agent.[9]
- 7 July: New logo and corporate identity of Internazionale have been launched.[10]
- 8 July: New home shirt in black with blue pinstripes for the first time and Dodô signs for Inter from Roma on a two-year loan.

- 15 July: Yann M'Vila signs for Inter from Rubin Kazan on a one-year loan, with an option to make the move permanent for €9 million.[13]

- 7 August: Inter sign Dani Osvaldo from Southampton and Gary Medel from Cardiff City.[17][18]
- 26 August: Inter loaned both Ezequiel Schelotto and Rubén Botta to Serie A side Chievo, with Chievo having an option to buy Schelotto at the conclusion of the season.[19]
- 28 August: Inter loaned Ricky Álvarez to English side Sunderland for €1 million until the conclusion of the season, with an option to purchase the player for €11 million if the club is not relegated to the Football League Championship.[20]
- 14 November: Inter announce that Walter Mazzarri has been sacked as the manager of the Nerazzurri.[21][22][23][24] On the same day, Mancini made a surprise return to the club of six years absence.[25]
- 23 November: Roberto Mancini's first game in charge was against rivals Milan in the Derby della Madonnina, which finished in a 1–1, with the club's goal scored by Joel Obi in the 61st minute.[26][27]
- 27 November: Inter beat Ukrainian side Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk 2–1 at San Siro, with goals scored by Zdravko Kuzmanović and Dani Osvaldo.[28] The result put Inter into the knockout stage with a game left to play.[29]

- 5 January: Lukas Podolski signs for Inter from Arsenal on loan until the end of the 2014–15 season.[30]
- 9 January: Xherdan Shaqiri signs for Inter from Bayern Munich for a four-year contract.[31]

Kit information
The new home kit is black with a thin blue pinstripe and also boasts a new enlarged and enhanced club crest. The club crest – in the version with the star on the top – will be present exclusively on the jersey. The shirt has a tailored black collar with a thin blue trim, which has a button at the top, and a placket with a hidden button. Inside the back of the neck is a pennant tab featuring the Saint George’s cross to represent the city of Milan’s coat of arms. On the back of the neck is "Inter" in a specially designed font, which has been used by the Nerrazzurri’s most committed fans on flags and banners inside the San Siro since the 1970s. The new home shorts are black with a thin blue stripe along each side, and the new home socks are black with a wide tonal stripe of chevrons on the back. The new away kit has a ribbed crew neck collar and is white with a tonal light grey graphic on the front consisting of lines which create a Saint George’s cross from the city of Milan’s coat of arms. Inside the back of the neck is a pennant tab featuring the proud message "Milano E’ Solo Inter" (Milan is only Inter). It is written in a specially designed font. On the back of the neck is another Saint George's cross to once again proudly represent the city of Milan's coat of arms. The new away kit is completed by white shorts and socks.[35]
