- ↑ Paris Saint-Germain qualified for the Europa League group stage by winning the 2015–16 Coupe de France, and for the Europa League third qualifying round by winning the 2015–16 Coupe de la Ligue. However, since they already qualified for European competition based on their league position, the spots awarded to the cup winners was passed down the league.
- ↑ Starting this season, Ligue 1 decided to reduce the number of relegation spots from three to two.[1] However, the decision was appealed and overturned so three teams were relegated.[2]
