Ahmet Akça
Ahmet Akça is a Turkish entrepreneur, the Chairman of the leading Turkish mobile network operator and technology company Turkcell[1][2] and a philanthropist.
Career
He studied mathematics at Middle East Technical University and sociology at Istanbul University, and graduated from the Bursa Economics and Commercial Sciences Academy's Department of Economics.
He has started his professional career serving as a Foreign Trade Manager in the glass and food industry. In 1988 he became CEO of the International Trading House Company, a position he held until 1992. He later started up his own business by establishing the logistics company Akça Lojistik Hizmetleri ve Ticaret A.Ş.[3] which he currently acts as the Chairman of the Board of Directors. On 11 March 2013, Ahmet Akça has been appointed to the Board of Directors of Turkcell by a decision of the Capital Markets Board of Turkey.
As a philanthropist he was nominated as member of the Committee of Trustees of the Bezmialem Vakıf University foundation on January 2010, and he has been serving as the Chairman since November 2011. He also actively participates in supporting various educational foundations and charities.
