Air Ambulance Jamaica was established in 2009 by President & CEO Duane Boise to provide residents of the Caribbean access to quality medical care in an emergency. Air Ambulance Aircraft
EMed Air Ambulance Jamaica has access to several aircraft in Jamaica to accommodate their services for air ambulance. These aircraft are Lear 35, Piper Navajo Chieftain, IAI Westwind Jet and Pilatus PC-12.

With EMED’s already advanced patient transportation capabilities, the venture with video telemedicine technology does not come as a surprise. The company will be installing a 911 emergency button in its websites allowing for an EMT, nurse and patient, all to be connected by way of the Internet. This will allow EMED EMT’s to transmit live video and audio from an ambulance to a doctor in an emergency who will be able to watch the video stream on a tablet or desktop computer.
Virtual medical exams where doctors in distant locations evaluate patients online are nothing new. Video consultations have traditionally connected patients in rural areas to specialists at urban medical centers. EMED offers the potential to expand video interactions into all corners of the health care industry due to its mobility.
The EMED telemedicine platform that will be sending the patient information to a doctor, hospital, or other health care provider is HIPPA compliant with an advanced encryption technology that protects the privacy of the patients personal health information.

This new EMED experimental video telemedicine technology allows EMED’s doctors and nurses to provide care to many Caribbean citizens living in rural areas without easy access to medical centers. A recent study released by a US based health care system reported that; Home telehealth services reduced hospital admissions by 35% and further reduced bed days of care by 59%. This potentially could reduce the accident and emergency room long waiting periods for the Jamaican public health care system, and also reduce the spreading of germs.
In the near future EMED will be adding a remote patient monitoring system for patients to use at their home. This will keep patients linked to the EMED care team allowing for updated health information to be transmitted. It also will help stem the spread of infectious diseases and virus’s.

Air Ambulance Electronic Health Records
Emed has established the very first EHR for the country of Jamaica.[1] They began this project to help doctors move from paper based workflows to electronic health record based systems on Jan 3rd 2010. The reason for the push to help doctors with medical records was to save more lives and have an accurate trail of medical data to ensure each patient was treated properly.
Air Ambulance Personal Health Records
With the great success of EMeds EHR EMed decided to allow patients the ability to enter and carry their own personal health record on their wrist, necklace and on their mobile phone. This new PHR allowed many to enter their own personal health record information to have and keep safely with them anywhere they go in the world. The technology for the personal health record was managed by EMED's Chief Technology Officer and is backed by Microsoft technology and robust data center with help of the DOA handler system. EMed works in conjunction with the GVN (Global Viral Network[2])to address the potential serious threat posed by potentially pandemic viral disease threatening public health.
Air Ambulance Health Tourism
EMed has partnered and assists several large hotels, resorts and cruise lines to provide tourists with emergency air ambulance services in so doing they create a network to provide emergency services that were not available before. Several large companies have been instrumental in helping EMed help more people get the medical services. EMed is the center of health tourism for helping people who have an emergency medical condition fly to their home hospital and doctor's care.[3] Air Ambulance has become EMedical Jamaica's primary business helping several tourists per month fly to their home to receive medical treatment. Most recently the Jamaican Port Authority[4] asked EMed to set up an emergency access office to provide ground and emergency air ambulance evacuations.
