Allan Sørensen (born on 24 April 1973) is a Danish drummer.

Biography

He began playing drums at age of 4 influenced by his parents. In the beginning he was influenced by Danish pop and rock acts. Soon he discovered the world of metal from bands like AC/DC, Kiss, Saxon, Dio, etc. As a teenager he began to have drum lessons with Mikkey Dee (of Motörhead fame) and he became the main inspiration of Allan's career.

His skills as a drummer were soon discovered in 1992 by Danish metal band Narita, where, despite appearing in the booklets of the first self-titled album, he did not play. Drums were played by session drummer Flemming Olsen. He eventually recorded two albums (Changes and Life) with Narita and the band split-up.

After that he recorded first album of Prime Time, a band formed by Narita friend, guitarist Henrik Poulsen.

In late 1996, when Royal hunt long-time drummer Kenneth Olsen left the band for health problems, André Andersen, who have played with Allan in Narita's second album, called Sorensen to fill the drums for them as the Japanese tour was ready to begin. Allan flew to Switzerland and rehearsed with Royal Hunt and 36 hours after he arrived, he was already on stage playing with the band. Then he recorded the album Paradox followed by a world tour with the band before becoming a full time member.

After 1 album, several tours and 2 EP's, Allan left the band in the summer of 2000 to join Danish band Cornerstone (formed by Royal Hunt's then bassist, Steen Mogensen) which he played in two albums before coming back to Royal Hunt to record Paper Blood which featured then former Royal Hunt Kenneth Olsen on percussion. After the recording, Allan left the band again to focus on Cornerstone.

Soon, he was called again to play drums for Royal Hunt, as drummer Kenneth Olsen has left again the band and since 2007 he is playing with them, where he recorded 2 albums and is recording the upcoming Show Me How To Live album which marks the return of D.C. Cooper.
