Alternanthera bettzickiana (syn. A. amoena)[1][2] is a species of flowering plant in the amaranth family, Amaranthaceae. It is commonly used as an ornamental edging plant. It is particularly popular in China, where it is "cultivated in nearly all the large cities".[3] It is native to South America.[3] Its common names include calico-plant.[4]
