Awa (阿波市 Awa-shi) is a city located in Tokushima Prefecture, Japan.
The modern city of Awa was established on April 1, 2005, from the merger of the former town of Awa, absorbing the town of Ichiba (both from Awa District), and the towns of Donari and Yoshino (all from Itano District). It is located in the former Awa Province (Tokushima).
As of 2005, the city has an estimated population of 43,145 and a population density of 226 persons per km². The total area is 190.97 km².
