Cecilia Suárez (Spanish pronunciation: [seˈsilja ˈswaɾes]; born November 22, 1971) is an Ariel Award and Emmy International nominated Mexican actress who has played roles in a number of mostly Spanish language films and television series since 1997.
Career
Suárez studied theater at Illinois State University.
Her debut was in the Gerardo Pardo-produced Table dance. She has since been in films such as Sexo, pudor y lágrimas, The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada, Travesía, The Air I Breathe, Dreaming of Julia and Wash and Wear, and television series such as Todo por amor, Fidel, For the People and Capadocia. Her roles have ranged from minor to major.
Suárez has a film program called TNT & Film.
She was nominated for an International Emmy in the Best Performance by an Actress category in 2009, for her role of La Bambi in the TV Series Capadocia.
Personal life
In October 2009 she announced that she was pregnant and called for respect for her and her partner Osvaldo de León. She says, "In this moment we are living one of the most important stages of our lives, because in a few months we will become parents, hoping above all respect from the press."[1] Their son Teo was born in April 2010. Her relationship with de León ended in August 2010.[2]
Awards
She was nominated for a silver Ariel Award in 2008 for Párpados Azules, she also was nominated for an International Emmy for Capadocia. In 2004 and 2005 she was nominated for the Mexican MTV Movie Award.
