Ece Ayhan Çağlar

Ece Ayhan Çağlar (1931, Muğla – July 13, 2002, İzmir) was a contemporary Turkish poet. He used the name Ece Ayhan in his poems. He is one of the prominent figures of the II. New Movement, however he didn't accept this name and preferred Civilian Poetry. He was openly gay.[1][2] The latest book on Ece Ayhan: " Anacığım,merhaba!" Ece Ayhan'dan Ülkü Başsoy'a Mektuplar, Kartlar.The book contains 7 letters and 13 post-cards sent to one of Ece Ayhan's closesest University friends, Ülkü Bassoy, a diplomat i.r. [3] Published by VeYayınevi, October 2014. İstanbul. A foreword by Kenan Yücel followed by a 56 pages essay bu Ülkü Başsoy on, reminiscences of Ece Ayhan,the birth of 2. New Poetry Wave in Turkey, the thriving artistic life of Ankara in the 1950s and the personalities who contributed to the cultural"golden age of Atatürk's Capital including such luminaries as Paul Hindemith, Carl Ebert, Eduard Zuckmayer, Nurettin Sevin, Yıldırım Önal, Yıdız Kenter, Bülent Arel, İlhan Usmanbaş, Faruk Güvenç, Üner Birkan, Eugène Ionesco, Bilge Karasu, Ezra Pound, İlhan Berk and others.
