Club career
Eric Johanna Omondi commonly referred to as ‘Mapake’ is an attack minded midfielder who plays for Mathare United Fc, he is known for his creative style of play, hazy runs on the wing and his technical handling of the ball.
Youth career
Eric Johanna started his youth career at Mathare United’s Academy, he played for the U19 team in the 2013 season leading the team to a 3rd place finish
Senior career
After the Successful Kpl U19 tournament, Johanna was promoted to the Mathare senior team in 2014, He scored a goal on his debut season. In the 2015 season, Johanna had a good season scoring 7 goals in the Kenya Premier League, he was also voted the Kenya Premier League midfielder of the year. In the 2016 Johanna had made 18 appearances for Mathare united scoring 4 goals, his rich vein in form saw top Swedish side Aik footbol approach Johanna for trials on 20 July 2016.
International career
Johanna has 11 caps for the Kenyan National team; his debut game was against Ethiopia on 4 July 2015 at Nyayo stadium and his maiden goal was the winning goal[1] for Kenya against Congo at Kasarani Stadium with a 2-1 final score line.
Honours
Individual Kenya Premier League midfielder of the year 2015.[2]
