Galena, Washoe County, Nevada is an abandoned town in Washoe County, Nevada, south of Reno. The portion of Reno just south of Mount Rose Highway and west of Steamboat Springs is also known as Galena.39°20′59″N 119°47′19″W / 39.34972°N 119.78861°W / 39.34972; -119.78861

Galena was developed as a mining property in 1860, and also became an important lumbering center, with eleven sawmills operating by 1863. The town was abandoned after 1867, following two disastrous fires. The site is marked by Nevada Historical Marker number 212.[1]
