Janakpuri West metro station is surrounded by a pre-dominantly residential area, the district centre a major centre for jobs especially for the lower middle class. Hence there is a suppressed demand for 25 sq.m. and 40 sq.m. EWS housing.Today in Delhi there is a lack of precedent for any housing transformation, which has already taken place at INA metro-station Kidwainagar redevelopment project and the East Delhi Karkardooma project. Once the much talked about connection of Janakpuri West station to Kalkaji metro station is made, in the next five years one could see transformation around Janakpuri West with land pooling & amalgamation, conversion of plotted housing to high density high rise housing as per the provisions made by DDA in MPD2021.[1]
