Joe Steve Ó Neachtain

Joe Steve Ó Neachtain (born 1942) is an Irish writer, actor, playwright and broadcaster in the Irish language. He is well known for his portrayal of Peadar Ó Conghaile in the long-running soap Ros na Rún. Ó Neachtain, a native speaker of Irish, was born in An Spidéal, County Galway, where he still lives.

Ó Neachtain has been writing since 1969 and has published many short stories. He has won Oireachtas prizes for his songs and has also written for radio. competitions. In addition to his work as a television actor, he has appeared on stage at Taibhdhearc na Gaillimhe and elsewhere.
