The Meerut Metro (Hindi: मेरठ मेट्रो) is a proposed rapid transit system in the city of Meerut, India.. The feasibility study of the project was completed by RITES in June 2015. Meerut Metro Rail is likely to be completed around 2022 (phase 1), if started in 2017.
As of September 2016, DPR is being prepared by RITES and to be submitted to state government on July. Most likely construction will begin on March 2017. [1]
Cost
Cost of construction is estimated at Rs 11540 crore.

Phase 1
- Line 1 Partapur to Modipuram, 20 km – elevated (12.8 km) & underground (7.2 km)[2]
- Line 2: Shradhapuri Phase II to Jagriti Vihar, 15 km – elevated (10.7 km ) & underground (4.3 km)
