The 9 municipalities of the South Karelia Region (Finnish: Etelä-Karjala; Swedish: Södra Karelen) in Finland are divided on two sub-regions:
Imatra sub-region
- Imatra
- Parikkala
- Rautjärvi
- Ruokolahti (Ruokolax)
Lappeenranta sub-region
- Lappeenranta (Villmanstrand)
- Lemi
- Luumäki
- Savitaipale
- Taipalsaari
