När is a settlement on the Swedish island of Gotland, with 413 inhabitants in 2014.[2] Formerly a socken,[3] on 1 January 2016, it was reconstituted into the administrative area När District.[4] The När Lighthouse is located east of the village on Närsholmen.
Singer and actress Josefin Nilsson (1969–2016), was born in När.
Geography
När is the name of the socken, now district. It is also the name of the small village surrounding the medieval När Church,[5] sometimes referred to as När kyrkby. It is situated on the east coast of Gotland.[6]
