Peace Theological Seminary & College of Philosophy

Peace Theological Seminary & College of Philosophy (PTS) is a theological seminary and the educational arm of the Church of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. PTS was founded by the Reverend John-Roger Hinkins in 1977 with headquarters in Los Angeles, California in the United States.[1]

PTS is a non-profit organization, offering undergraduate workshops, courses and retreats, and postgraduate programs in spiritual science.[1]

Unlike many traditional theological institutions, Peace Theological Seminary & College of Philosophy is ecumenical and non-denominational and therefore students have varied backgrounds and traditions, including Jewish, Protestant, Roman Catholic, Buddhist and Sikh. PTS’ focus is to provide “educational opportunities that support students in becoming more aware of the Divine in themselves”.[1]

The Peace Theological Seminary & College of Philosophy does not offer any courses in philosophical topics; such as ontology, epistemology, logic, or [Theosophical] metaphysics.[1]

Relevance

PTS has over three thousand graduates of its Masters and/or Doctorate programs. (Exact numbers would be useful here). Since 1972, it has offered weekly courses in support of those wishing to align themselves with Soul & Above and with the capacity of Soul Transcendence. Since 1998, the most popular and successful offering has been a two-year Masters and a three-year Doctorate program in Spiritual Science. Outsiders would recognize several methods taught here as on a par with Energy Medicine methods practiced in other trainings. For instance a form of two-person self-muscle-testing is taught that reduces the problematic variations of 1970s-era expert-driven arm-pull-down muscle testing. All methods are practiced within a framework of 'God is my Partner.' This is a key component of psychic-self-protection as taught by PTS.

An online version available worldwide commences Sept 2014.

In 1974 the Guasti Villa, at 3500 West Adams Blvd in Los Angeles, California was purchased by the Church of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness (MSIA) for use by both MSIA and PTS. Since 1974 until the present, students of MSIA have lived at "Prana" as part of the seminary program offered by Peace Theological Seminary and College of Philosophy with the prime purpose of the seminary to study MSIA’s teachings and “to serve more than at other places”.[3]

Today the building is known as "Prana" or "Peace Awareness Labyrinth & Gardens".[4]
