Santa Venerina (Sicilian: Santa Vinirina) is a comune (municipality) in the Province of Catania in the Italian region Sicily, located about 160 kilometres (99 mi) southeast of Palermo and about 20 kilometres (12 mi) northeast of Catania. As of 31 December 2004, it had a population of 8,148 and an area of 18.8 square kilometres (7.3 sq mi).[1]
