Secane station is a SEPTA Regional Rail station in Clifton Heights, Pennsylvania. It serves the Media/Elwyn Line and previously served the Pennsylvania Railroad. It is located at Providence Road and South Avenue, and parking is available via permit. In 2013, this station saw 483 boardings and 379 alightings on an average weekday.[1]

The station consists of two platforms with plexiglass shelters on the east side of Providence Road across from the end of South Street. A serpentine stone building originally built in 1880 by the Pennsylvania Railroad[2] serves as the station and ticket office, with an insurance office occupying the level at the parking lot.[3] This station was originally known as Spring Hill, a name which can still be found on the cornerstone of the building.

Improvements

SEPTA has plans to upgrade this station by Spring 2017. The upgrades include installation of new high-level platforms, building a station building and canopy, and a tunnel under the tracks to switch directions.[4]
