Sold is a 2014 narrative feature film directed by Jeffrey D. Brown[1] based on Patricia McCormick's novel Sold.[2]
The film is executive produced by Emma Thompson) and produced by Jane Charles. The script was written by Joseph Kwong and Jeffrey D. Brown.[3]
Plot
Sold illustrates the story of Lakshmi who after being trafficked journeys from a rural village in Nepal to a brothel called Happiness House in Kolkata, India.[4] She risks everything for freedom from the brothel.
