Trinity Theological College, located in Leederville a suburb of Perth, Western Australia, is an independent evangelical Christian tertiary college.[1] Students come from a diverse range of denominations and church affiliations with courses and accreditation provided through the Australian College of Theology.[2] It is the recognised training college for the Diocese of North West Australia of the Anglican Church of Australia, the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church of Western Australia.[3]
Courses
Courses range from certificate to doctoral level. All courses, except the Certificate of Christian Studies, are provided through the Australian College of Theology.
Given the aim to equip people for long term word-based ministries, the educational approach is tailored to that end. This means that the focus is on three-year foundational theological degrees, the Bachelor of Theology and Master of Divinity.
The three-year degrees contain units on Old and New testaments, languages, theology, church history, and ministry skills. These are acquired through face to face instruction and discussion in the context of a Christian community.
Three-Year Degrees
The Bachelor of Theology provides a biblical and theological framework for communicating the gospel faithfully with appropriate skills for a range of ministry options.
The Master of Divinity is open to those with a prior tertiary level degree in any area.
One-Year Degrees
The Diploma of Theology provides a solid biblical and theological framework for those who are preparing for Christian service as a lay person. On completion of the DipTh students can transfer to the Bachelor of Theology.
The Graduate Diploma of Divinity is open to those who have completed a prior tertiary level degree. On completion of the GradDipDiv students can transfer to the Master of Divinity.
Postgraduate Courses
These courses are for those with a completed Bachelor or Masters level degree in Theology/Divinity who want to deepen and broaden their knowledge and theological frameworks.
The Master of Arts (Theology) and Graduate Diploma of Theology provide opportunities for students to deepen their study and application of the Bible, theology and ministry through coursework or a combination of coursework and research.
The Master of Theology is for those who show capacity in research and are looking towards extending their depth of knowledge in a particular area. It is for pastors with responsibility for providing leadership in various ministry and pastoral contexts, leaders taking part in wider debates within churches or denominations, or those aiming to teach in theological colleges in Australia or overseas.
Certificate Courses
The Certificate of Christian Studies and Advanced Certificate of Christian Studies are entry level courses for anyone who wants to dig deeper into God's word. They are run in short blocks of study in Perth and some regional centres and are excellent for Bible Study group members, trainee youth leaders, deacons and elders and people looking to balance their life with solid Bible teaching.
The Certificate of Ministry is offered as an additional course to students enrolled in our three year degrees. The course provides additional instruction and reflection on ministry practice, and is compulsory for full-time students.[4]

Main Campus
Trinity Theological College has a purpose-built facility, "Trinity House", located in Newcastle Street between Loftus and Oxford streets in Leederville, just 5 kilometres from the Perth CBD. Its convenient location makes it easily accessible via public transport, car or bicycle.

Trinity's library is located on the 2nd floor of Trinity House and is accessed by the elevator or stairs. It is a purpose-built library and occupies 470 square metres in area. Information and resources are provided for students, staff and graduates, as well as pastors, Christian leaders, and others in the community.

Additionally Library members have borrowing privileges.[6]
History
Trinity Theological College was formed at the end of 1998 with the merging of the Perth Centre for Applied Christian Studies (PCACS) and Westminster Theological College (Perth). This followed two years of prayer, planning, and preparations by college boards and principals (Dr Allan Chapple and Dr Stephen Rarig).
Trinity was located at Bull Creek Westminster Presbyterian church from 1998-2003. In May 2004 the main campus moved to a purpose-designed premises in Leederville: "Trinity House".
The faithful prayer and financial support of a dedicated group of supporters realised the dream of providing a building that would enable the training ministry to extend its influence throughout Western Australia and the world. The ministry of the College continues to rely on prayer and financial support to help it continue to grow and develop into the future.
Trustees, faculty, staff and students come from a wide cross-section of churches and backgrounds.
Trinity is the recognised training college for the Diocese of North West Australia of the Anglican Church of Australia, the Westminster Presbyterian Church and the Presbyterian Church of Western Australia. Many churches, missionary societies, schools and other ministries send people to be trained at Trinity and employ their graduates.[3]
