Verdi, Minnesota
Verdi is an unincorporated community (Class Code U6) located in Lincoln County, Minnesota at latitude 44.209 and longitude -96.352 (Verdi Panoramio Photos). The elevation is 1,762 feet (537 m). Verdi appears on the Verdi U.S. Geological Survey Map.[1]
History
Verdi was platted in 1879.[2] It was named in honor of composer Giuseppe Verdi, and from the fact in Italian, verd means "green".[2] A post office was established at Verdi in 1879, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1997.[3]
