Vincent Eric Courville (born December 5, 1959) is a former American football wide receiver who played one season with the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He first enrolled at Ranger College before transferring to Texas Southern University and then Rice University. Ball was also a member of the Houston Gamblers, New York Knights, Buffalo Bills, Houston Oilers, New York/New Jersey Knights and Ohio Glory.
Early years
Courville played high school football for the Ball High School Tornadoes of Galveston, Texas. He also participated in track and field.[1]
College career
Courville first played college football for the Ranger College Rangers.[2]
He transferred to Texas Southern University, where he participated in football and track for the Texas Southern Tigers. He attended Texas Southern University from 1979 to 1980. He was voted the Southwest Athletic Conference Track Man of the Year while at Texas Southern.[1]
Courville transferred to Rice University, where he lettered for the Rice Owls football team from 1981 to 1983. He recorded five touchdown receptions in 1981. He also participated in track and field, where he was the Southwest Conference 100 meter champion as a junior.[1]
Professional career
Courville signed with the Houston Gamblers of the United States Football League on October 24, 1983.[1] He played in two games for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League in 1987.[2] He played for the New York Knights of the Arena Football League in 1988 and earned Second Team All-Arena honors.[3]
Courville was signed by the Buffalo Bills on August 1, 1988.[4] He was a member of the Houston Oilers of the NFL in 1989.[5]
He played for the New York/New Jersey Knights of the World League of American Football from 1991 to 1992.[6] Courville also spent part of the 1992 WLAF season with the Ohio Glory.[6]
