Career
Pelé has spent most of his career at Le Mans, making his debut in Ligue 2 in the 1–0 defeat at FC Istres in September 2002. He established himself as the club's first-choice goalkeeper in the 2004–05 season, as the club won promotion to Ligue 1. He was also the club's first choice in 2007–08, its third consecutive season in the top-flight.
Pelé was briefly linked with a move to England possibly with Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United. The French keeper has always been attracted to a move to England. On 29 June 2009 he was transferred from Le Mans UC72 to Toulouse FC where he signed a four-year contract.
At 12 October 2010, Toulouse announced that Pelé is suffering with a pulmonary embolism.[1] In July 2012 he left the club. On the 4th of January 2013, Pelé announced that he would like to play football again.
In January 2014, more than three years after his last competitive game, he signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with FC Sochaux-Montbéliard.[2] He played 48 competitive matches for the club, before joining Marseille in July 2015.[3]
International career
Pelé was called up to the France U21s in 2004, and made 2 starts. [4] He received his first international call-up on October 2008 for a friendly against Tunisia, but didn't make an appearance.[5]
